In April, I had the privilege of attending  Nerida Joy’s Understanding Skin Tour alongside XO8 Skin, and it was truly one of those experiences that reminds you why you fell in love with this industry in the first place.

Nerida Joy is one of the most respected skin experts in our profession and has been a personal role model of mine for years. What makes her so exceptional isn’t just her decades of knowledge and experience- it’s the way she generously shares it. In an industry that is constantly evolving, Nerida remains committed to educating, mentoring, and elevating estheticians through a deep understanding of skin physiology, corrective skincare, and real-world treatment application.

What stood out most throughout the event was how hands-on she is. Nerida wasn’t simply presenting from a stage, she was actively engaged with attendees throughout the entire experience. From live skin assessments and treatment demonstrations to answering questions and sharing clinical pearls, she brought the education to life in a way that only someone with her level of expertise can. Her passion for skin health and commitment to helping estheticians become better practitioners was evident in every session.

I was incredibly honored to not only attend and showcase the XO8 Collection, but also to share the stage with Nerida and participate in a panel discussion. Having the opportunity to contribute to conversations around skin health, business, and professional growth alongside someone I admire so much was a true highlight.

XO8 was featured throughout the event, and it was exciting to see attendees experience the products firsthand during treatment demonstrations. Watching professionals witness the sensory experience, ingredients, and results in a live educational setting created meaningful conversations around skin healing, barrier support, and treatment enhancement.

Beyond the education, the connections made throughout the weekend were equally impactful. I had the opportunity to connect with incredible estheticians, educators, and brand partners from across the industry. And in one of the most unexpected and special moments of the weekend, I met the esthetician of one of my best friends who lives in another state. Out of all the places and people, our paths crossed through this event- a reminder of how connected and beautifully small our industry can be.

The entire experience reinforced something I deeply believe: when industry leaders are willing to share their knowledge and professionals come together with a spirit of collaboration, everyone grows. We elevate our skills, strengthen our businesses, and ultimately serve our clients at a higher level.
