On Easter Sunday 1974, Rosie’s Place was founded as the first shelter for women in the country.
We created a sanctuary of hope, a place where every woman was welcomed. Listened to. Understood. Loved. 

Rosie's Place was founded in 1974 as the first women’s shelter in the United States.

Our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment that helps poor and homeless women maintain their dignity, seek opportunity and find security in their lives. 

Rosie's Place welcomes poor and homeless women by creating a sanctuary within their walls.

They recognize the realities of poverty, and acknowledgment that the world is not a safe place for poor and homeless women. They truly help them with unconditional love.
